MANILA, Philippines – An inmate’s wife stated that Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) employees asked P50,000 from her in a botched deal to purchase her spouse’s very very very early launch from jail.
A wife of an inmate at the New Bilibid Prison, narrated her ordeal with BuCor officials and employees who allegedly ployed her into paying thousands to release her husband during the third Senate hearing on the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) law on Thursday evening, September 5, Yolanda Camilon.
Camilon stated that a particular Mabel Bansil, a correctional inspector that is senior chatted to her in February this present year about increasing her spouse’s GCTA which will be the foundation for their launch.
“Sinabi niya sa akin na, ‘Puwede mapaiksi ang solution ng asawa mo. ‘Yun nga lang magastos.’ Sabi ko, ‘Paano po ‘yung gastos na ‘yun?’ Meron po siyang binanggit na certain quantity na P50,000.”
(She explained, ‘Your spouse’s solution might be reduced. But it is costly.’ we informed her, ‘How expensive?’ She pointed out a certain quantity that are at P50,000.)
Relating to Camilon, Bansil shared with her that she can spend in tranches. Relieved using the setup, Camilon consented using the deal.
Times following the encounter with Bansil, Camilon stated she met with BuCor documents area main Ramoncito Roque in their home to pay for the installment that is first P10,000. Continue reading
